How to Be a Better Emcee is a focused, practical workshop designed to help stand-up comics develop the skills needed to confidently host comedy shows. Whether you’re new to emceeing, currently hosting open mics, or looking to improve your performance as a show host, this course breaks down what makes an emcee effective, professional, and bookable. You’ll learn how to open and close a show, engage and read an audience, handle transitions, introduce comics properly, keep the energy consistent, and avoid common hosting mistakes that can cost you gigs. This workshop is ideal for comedians who want to strengthen their stage presence, support other performers, and increase their chances of getting trusted with more hosting opportunities.

It’s part competition, part party, and all about big voices and bigger moments.

  • The Bad Erotica Show

Every third Saturday, The Bad Erotica Show, created and hosted by comedian Scott Richards, is a shamelessly hilarious night where ten comics read aloud the craziest sex scenes they’ve ever written, to try to win a prize of a bag of $3 chips from the vending machine. Each performer receives a unique, unhinged prompt a week in advance (think “Oregon Trail and Robots” or “Elephant and Banker”), and the results are gloriously chaotic, deeply unserious, and absolutely unforgettable.

The audience gets in on the action by voting for their favorite masterpiece of terrible smut. It’s raunchy, ridiculous, creatively unhinged fun that turns bad writing into great comedy—perfect for fans who like their laughs messy and their erotica… deeply questionable.
